It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our friend Kamil Holán following an accident during the North West 200. The international road racing world has lost not only an exceptionally talented rider, but above all a man who lived for the sport, for motorcycles, and for the pure passion of racing.
Kamil was known for his courage, determination, and immense love for road racing. Whether at the Isle of Man TT, the North West 200, or within the IRRC, he consistently showed both his talent and his character. He proudly represented Czech motorsport and became one of the most respected international road racers of his generation. What makes this loss even more heartbreaking is that Kamil had recently been racing with his late father in mind — as a tribute to the man who helped shape his passion for motorsport. That special bond between father and son could be felt in everything he did, both on and off the circuit.
Within our motorcycling family, Kamil will be remembered as a true racer: determined, humble, passionate, and always ready for a conversation in the paddock. His presence, his stories, and his love for the sport will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, teammates, and everyone within the international road racing community.
A Life Dedicated to Pure Road Racing
Kamil Holán became one of the most respected Czech road racers of his generation. Through his combination of courage, perseverance, and pure passion for the sport, he built an impressive career on some of the most dangerous road racing circuits in the world. His name became synonymous with the Isle of Man TT, the Manx Grand Prix, the IRRC, and the great European road races.
His international breakthrough came in 2012 when he became the first Czech rider ever to win the Newcomers A Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man Mountain Course. From his very first appearance, he attracted international attention and was regarded as one of the brightest new talents in the road racing world.
Between 2015 and 2018, Holán continued to build a strong Isle of Man TT career. As a dedicated privateer, he achieved several impressive results, including 20th place in the 2018 Superbike TT, 21st place in the 2016 Superstock TT, and 22nd place in the Senior TT that same year. He recorded multiple laps above the magical 120 mph average speed barrier and became one of the fastest Czech TT riders of his era.
Kamil was also highly respected within the North West 200 paddock and the wider international road racing community. He was a familiar and valued presence at international road racing events and was known for his openness, humility, and love for the sport. Fans and fellow competitors will especially remember his warm enthusiasm, his big smile, his passion for pure road racing, and his unmistakable long hair.
Within the IRRC and the European road racing scene, Holán was regarded as one of the strongest continental road racers in Europe. He competed successfully in both the Supersport and Superbike classes and achieved strong results at legendary events such as the 300 Zatáček Gustava Havla in Hořice. His versatility on both 600cc and 1000cc machinery made him a complete and highly respected rider.
Among his most memorable achievements were:
- Winner of the Manx Grand Prix Newcomers A (2012)
- 5th place Senior Manx Grand Prix (2014)
- Best Overseas Rider at the Manx Grand Prix (2014)
- 20th place Superbike TT (2018)
- Multiple podium finishes in IRRC and European road races
- Victories at Hořice in both Supersport and Superbike categories
Rest in peace, Kamil. 🖤🏍️
